Kayaking the North West Passage in 2010

In June of 2010 Charlie Hunter will lead a two and a half month expedition to kayak Canada’s North West Passage. We spent an afternoon with David Thom and Charlie Hunter as they test their training kayak at Calshot Spit in the Solent.

The Inukshuk Expedition is set to leave in June 2010.


Away at Christmas – Best of British South Pole – video blog 2

On Tuesday last week we went to Fortnum and Mason in Picadilly to film the event that they hosted for the Best of British South Pole 2010 Expedition. The Conference Reaction team were there too and they produced a record of the event.

There were three talks, first Dr Andrea Tanner gave a talk about the Fortnum and Mason archive for which she has responsibility. Then Jeremy Archer talked about his book Away at Christmas, available from Fortnum and Mason.

It was thrilling to meet Roz Savage who, famous for rowing the Atlantic, has now turned her attention to the Pacific Ocean.
